Sleek MakeUP – First Impression

For makeup beginners, the biggest challenge is to choose what’s best from thousands of cosmetic brands. When it comes to me, I always believe in using quality products since I can’t risk ruining my face by using unknown and low-quality products. Then again, spending on high-end makeup products is costly especially at the point where you are trying to figure out the perfect foundation colour for your skin. For instance, just imagine spending over $100 on your foundation, and later you figure out its not your skin colour or it doesn’t look good on your skin? So the question is what you can do to avoid it?

This weekend I attended Sleek Makeup My Lifeproof Workshop at Sephora KLCC. During the workshop, I got to experience the Lifeproof foundation and other products by Sleek Makeup. Sleek Makeup is an innovative high-street beauty brand from the UK which creates performance makeup known for strong pigmentation and high quality. This product caters from fair to dark skin tones with an understanding of skin tones and the need for diversity.

Lifeproof foundation

The sleek Lifeproof foundation is medium to full coverage, sweat proof and oil free foundation. This foundation retails at USD 20, so it's very affordable.

In Malaysia, only eight shades are available, however, on the Sleek website they have twenty-four shades to choose from. Without many struggles, I found my Lifeproof foundation in code LP013 (Olive Undertone) which blended perfectly with my skin. It felt light and very comfortable on my skin, and it remained flawless throughout the day. And also this foundation does not claim to have any SPF in it so you should be ok for a flashback. If you are looking for a long-lasting, shine-free and perfect foundation for you, then this is the one for you. The one drawback I found on this is it comes in squeeze tube packaging which creates a mess everywhere as it's not that thick compared to some other products.

Blush by 3 Palette

Blush by 3 palette gives three complementary shades each designed with its own unique finish, from rich shimmers to intensely deep and bright show-stopping matte shades. I used Lace shade palette as I have olive skin. To get the perfect blush shade, I did mix two colours; Chantilly and Crochet since I don’t want my cheeks to look so pink-ish!

Sleek Highlighting Palette

The sleek highlighting palette I used was Solstice which includes two baked powders, one luxurious cream formula and one silky shimmer powder which gives your skin a radiant and luminous glow. I really liked the yellow one as it provides a little shimmer compared to the rest. However, if you like a brighten glow those three would be perfect. I love this product and it super affordable and this product in drugstore beats of the high-end highlighters.

I-Divine Eyeshadow palette

This palette includes 12 shades of super-pigmented, long-lasting, mineral-based eyeshadow designed to suit all. The product is available in different colours based on different palettes. The vintage romance palette contains pearlescent shades which give an overall radiant effect. I used two colours; Forever in Florence and Lust in LA from the vintage romance palette on me and totally loved the look without much struggle.

Mattifying Primer

If you have oily skin, this mattifying primer would be perfect for you. I wore this on my face under my foundation. It gave my skin a velvet and a blur finish, and now I am totally in love with this primer.
